Do you remember that love song 跑马溜溜的山上? You must know this song is singing about a city called Kangding (康定). Our second stop is the city in love song. This is really lively city with a river rans across the city. Han people and Tibetan people live harmoniously here. Urecca loved the city very much and said she want to be back again later sometime.

We lived in a popular youth hotel call The Black Tent. It’s a youth hotel decorated in Tibetan style. That night we also paid a visit to a bar and saw this handsome Tibetan guy. Also a girl sang a song for us.

On the way from Hailuogou Glacier to Kangding, we traveled upstream along Dadu river. Below is a photo of the famous Luding Bridge. During the long march, the Red Army lost thousands of soldier to capture it.

Though it’s summer already summer, here at Hailuogou Glacier, it’s forever winter. The big ice hills appear black. We felt at Mars.

This is the only monkey at the glacier. It follows the first tourist to the center of the glacier, get food from tourists there and goes back when full. That day, we are the first group visitors.

Today is Jun.8, Thurday. We started at XinNanMen coach station at 9:30 and spend the rest of day on the coach. The yellow line marked out the way we covered.

The coach run on the zigzag upward montain road, outside the window are full of montains and green vegetation.

After many many hours, we see the ErLangShan Tunnel. Pass through the tunnel, we will se the tibet area.

We cheer as our first glance out of the tunnel. It’s tibet plateau scene, we see it. Really different from the scene I have ever seen, more broad and more magnificent.

Then the coach keep going downhill and the driver has to keep stepping on the brake. When it get down from the high altitude, the tires are smoking due to continious friction and have to be cooled down.

The condition of the road is bad, we are stucked several times by landslide.

Finally, we safely arrived at hotel at Hailuogou valley. 60 each one, including free hotspring.
