Buy a suit of wedding dress at Suzhou

Many know that Suzhou is renowned for its classical gardens and is reputated as the eastern Venice for its canal systems. But many don’t know is that Suzhou has the largest wedding dress trade market in China and maybe in the world.

Last weekend I accopanied with two of my friends pay the wedding market a visit. The place is located at the foot of Huqiu Montain. It’s really an amazing place with hundreds of wedding dress shops at both sides of the road. And the prices are really nice too. A wedding dress costs from as low as some two hundred to as high as two thousand RMB. With 500 RMB you already can buy a satisfying wedding dress. I think the same dress in Shanghai could be hanging a price tag with a ’0′ attached to the current price.

Now adays, many couple chose to rent a wedding dress for their wedding. But my two friend don’t do that. First, they want to keep a wedding dress of their own for memory. Second, renting a suit of wedding dress costs about two or three hundred RMB a day. That’s almost half of the wedding dress price and you have to be very carefull with that dress. So they decide to buy a wedding dress of their own.

After strolling for about 4 hrs, my friend and his fiance chose a suit of champagne colored wedding dress. The designer of the shop get the measures of the fiance  and will make a customized suit for her in a week. When the dress is ready, it will be email to her home. Very nice service.

I think its a very good choice to buy a suit of wedding dress in Suhou when getting marrige. Not expensive, but very meaningful.
