虚惊一场

下午访问ideatalks时突然发现网站被暂停了，出现了一个警告的页面：

site suspended

于是急忙联系Hostmonster的在线支持，询问原因，发现被暂停的原因是IdeaTalks在每次有点击时竟然都会备份一遍，严重增加了服务器载荷。因此，Hostmonster要求我关闭这个插件，我就赶紧把这个插件删除了，等了半小时网站终于恢复正常了。开来我升级Wordpress到2.6的时候要非常小心的检查下我的备份插件设置了。

[11:43:17 PM]: when I type my adress into IE, it turns out to be this page:

Mike Z [11:43:24 PM]: before I can disclose information on the account I need you to verify the last 4 of the credit card number or the full password.

Chern [11:44:08 PM]: all right, I’d like to provide my pw

[11:44:29 PM]: it’s “********”

Mike Z [11:45:07 PM]: From the account notes: the backupwordpress plugin they have installed appears to be making a full wordpress backup for EVERY hit to the website which is REALLY BAD.

Chern [11:45:47 PM]: why that is bad?

Mike Z [11:46:20 PM]: Every time someone accesses your site, it makes a backup of your site.

[11:46:31 PM]: This generates a LOT of server load which is affecting other users on the server.

[11:47:05 PM]: Bear in mind you are on shared hosting, with 574 other users on that server as you.

Chern [11:47:19 PM]: oh, i see. I can re-configure it, but first you need to unlock my site so that I can operate.

Mike Z [11:47:32 PM]: Please bear with me while I get that done.

Chern [11:48:02 PM]: sure

Mike Z [11:51:23 PM]: Alright. I have reinstated your cPanel login.

[11:51:37 PM]: You should be able to go in and remove or move the plugin so it’s not active.

Chern [11:52:02 PM]: all right, thx.

[11:52:38 PM]: wait wiat

Mike Z [11:52:51 PM]: Yes?

Chern [11:54:02 PM]: I need to go into my wordpress control panel in order to disfuntion the plugin. I can’t do that via cPanel

Mike Z [11:54:25 PM]: You can move the plugin folder to another name, and that will deactivate it.

Chern [11:55:14 PM]: let me have a try

[11:57:44 PM]: i’ve renamed the folder, but seem it dosn’t work

Mike Z [12:02:18 AM]: bear with me a minute.

[12:04:05 AM]: Where is the plugin located?

Chern [12:05:41 AM]: i’m carrying out delete action, it’s now being deleted.

Mike Z [12:06:45 AM]: What folder was it in?

Chern [12:07:24 AM]: it was under /www/ideatalks.cn/wp-content/plugins/

[12:07:31 AM]: But I just deleted it

Mike Z [12:08:21 AM]: Ok. I have sent an email to have that reinstated. Should be back on in the next 30 minutes or so.

Chern [12:09:19 AM]: so I just wait, right?

Mike Z [12:10:02 AM]: Yes. It will be back when someone who can reinstate that is back in the office.

Chern [12:10:18 AM]: all right, thank you very much!

    数据库备份，每天定时就可以了。用wordpress database backup直接发送到邮箱，太经常备份没有什么实际意义。
